about

This is a soft song about finding your place in a brand new place. I wrote it when I first came to Chicago and recorded it for my first album that I released, and decided that it couldn't hide back there anymore. I showed it to Elisa and Zak and they fell in love with it. We decided to open the EP with a brand new arrangement featuring Elisa's beautiful vocals.

lyrics

middle of november
a day not to remember
a mess on the floor
too far from the door
I am trapped on my bed
with these ideas in my head
that float away
onto this page

clarity is hard to come by
on the days when i don’t know myself
clarity is hard to come by
when my brain is on the tallest shelf

staring at the ceiling
nothing is revealing
answers to the main
questions in my brain
crossed out words, they waste ink
in captivity i think about
why i’m really here

clarity is hard to come by
when i just can’t see where i am today
clarity is hard to come by
when i’m just too damn far away

no resolve but life goes on
winter’s just around the bend
i’ll bundle up and i’ll brave the cold
for as long as i can defend
no resolve but life goes on
winter’s just around the bend
i’ll bundle up and i’ll brave the cold
until the bitter end.

clarity is hard to come by
when the crystal ball is full of haze
clarity is hard to come by
but it’s just a phase
clarity is hard to come by
when the crystal ball is full of haze
clarity is hard to come by
but it’s just a phase
